Flongle

Flongle™ (flow cell dongle) is an adapter for MinION or GridION Mk1 that enables direct, real-time DNA or RNA sequencing on smaller, single-use flow cells— delivering up to 2.8 Gbases of data. Providing immediate access to sequence data, Flongle is designed to be the quickest, most accessible and cost-efficient sequencing system for smaller or more frequently performed tests and experiments.

The Flongle adapter contains 126 channels. Each nanopore channel is controlled and measured individually by the bespoke ASIC. This allows for multiple nanopores to be run in parallel. Users can simply insert Flongle flow cells into the adapter, run their experiment and then discard the Flongle flow cell and replace it with another.
