What is hot air sterilisation? Steriliser S makes use of dry sterilisation to ensure laboratory equipment and devices are sterilized. With this method, hot air, devoid of water vapor or moisture, makes sure the device is sterile without needing risk prone disinfection methods. Each Memmert hot air steriliser S is classified as a class IIb medical device. Memmert is bringing medical devices of class IIb into circulation according to MDD 93/42/EEC until May 26, 2024, according to the transitional provisions of the (EU) 2017/745 Article 120 (2).

Importance of hot air sterilisation

• Disinfection of appliances and instruments is not sufficient in medicine and research. Only hot air sterilisation provides sufficient protection.
• Precisely maintaining the heat sterilisation time and terminating even the most resistant microorganisms. These are guaranteed at all times, irrespective of the hot air sterilisation load and chamber volume.

The indispensable safety feature for this hot air steriliser is SetpointWAIT. This means that the programme for sterilisation only starts when the set temperature has been reached. This feature can also be used with freely positionable Pt100 temperature sensors. Here, the sterilisation time only begins when the set temperature has been reached at all measurement points, and reliable sterilisation is guaranteed at all times.
