Need a customised solution?
Optional accessories are available for purchase separately. If your order needs a customised configuration, our technical specialists will follow up with full details before your order is finalised. Contact us via the enquiry form or sales@lasec.com.
Installation, training and special delivery
Some products require installation, training, or special delivery (such as tail-lift trucks, extra labour, or hazardous material packaging). If your order needs this, we'll contact you with the additional cost before dispatch, so your final invoice may differ from the listed price.
Ordering from outside South Africa
Online ordering is currently limited to South African customers, but our full range is still available. Log an enquiry or email international@lasec.com and our international sales team will assist you through our traditional sales channels.
The Cellometer X2 is a dual-fluorescence and brightfield image cytometer built for laboratories counting small cells, including brewing yeast, wine yeast, and platelets. It delivers count, concentration, diameter, and percent viability in under 60 seconds from a minimum of 3 µl of cell sample per chamber. With over 400 built-in cell types, modular fluorescence optics, and pattern-recognition software for debris exclusion and declustering, it is suited to both research and fermentation monitoring applications.
Dual Fluorescence and Brightfield Imaging: Fluorescent nuclear dyes target nucleated cells for viability counting in mixed populations. Because mature mammalian red blood cells lack nuclei, mononuclear cells are counted selectively, with no lysis step required. Brightfield imaging provides simultaneous morphology confirmation.
1-Step Yeast Viability Analysis: Brightfield and fluorescent images are acquired from the same sample in a single step, enabling simultaneous determination of yeast concentration and viability. Brightfield images show cell morphology and clump structure; fluorescent images confirm dead cell populations. Suited to fermentation monitoring workflows.
Debris Exclusion and Declustering: Pattern-recognition software identifies cells by size, brightness, and morphology to exclude debris from counts. Cell size parameters are adjustable to optimise exclusion across a range of sample types. Fluorescent nuclear dyes can further improve nucleated cell identification in debris-rich samples.
Modular Fluorescence Optics: Two standard fluorescence optics modules are included. Additional modules are available to extend the instrument's fluorophore compatibility as experimental needs evolve.
VC-535-403: Excitation 470 nm / Emission 535 nm
VC-660-503: Excitation 540 nm / Emission 660 nm
Both modules are included as standard. Additional optics modules are available as accessories.
