ISYNPROTOS3

The Protos 3 is an automated colony counter and chromogenic identification system designed for microbiology laboratories focusing on food and environmental samples. This system integrates a sensitive CMOS camera with unique lighting and powerful analysis software to deliver accurate, objective and fully traceable results.

Key features include:

  • Automated Colony Counting and Identification: Utilizes a CMOS camera and unique lighting for fast counting of colonies in seconds. Automatically identifies microbial species based on their colour on chromogenic plates, providing accurate, objective, and fully traceable results.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Connects to a computer via USB. Microbiologists can easily input plate identification and use one-click software for colony counting and chromogenic ID. Supports a wide range of plate types.
  • Data Management and Compliance: Facilitates automatic transfer of results to Excel for storing count, plate ID, and images, thus ensuring a GLP-compliant process with a full audit trail. This feature helps eliminate transcription errors and enables review and professional report generation.
  • Versatile Plate Compatibility: Accommodates both small and large plates (up to 150mm). Compatible with various plate formats, including spiral, pour, spread, and dilution series plates. The camera is capable of detecting colonies as small as 43 microns.
  • Advanced Analysis Capabilities: The system's LED lighting and software allow for the analysis of an infinite number of colonies on a single plate in seconds. True colour recognition is facilitated by unique 3-color lighting, making it suitable for busy laboratory environments.
  • Result Traceability and Archiving: Offers options to input plate identification using 1D or 2D barcodes and save images in various formats, including TIFF and Excel. Results are archived in an accessible SQL database.
  • Efficiency and Throughput: Capable of analysing 75 plates in 5 minutes, enhancing laboratory throughput.
  • Comprehensive Detection and Analysis Features: Includes true colour recognition, multiple colony colour identification on one plate, and classification by size, colour, and shape. The system also objectively identifies species on CHROMagar™ plates.
  • Reproducibility and Accuracy: Ensures reproducible and objective colour results, eliminating keying errors with direct transfer of results.
  • Ease of Use: Features intuitive software that corrects for agar defects, touching colonies, or sample debris. Allows for easy exclusion of areas from a count and has adjustable counting areas.
  • Multiple Plate Reading Functions: Compatible with various plate types including pour, spiral, multi-sector, gridded, streak, and dilution series plates, as well as large plates (up to 150mm) and species identification.
