Memmert Peltier-Cooled Incubator, IPPeco Series
Refrigerant-free cooled incubation from 0 °C to +70 °C, across nine chamber sizes from 32 to 2 140 litres
The Memmert IPPeco is a range of Peltier-cooled incubators for microbiological and food science applications requiring precise temperature control both above and below room temperature. Operating without a compressor or refrigerant, the series covers a temperature range of 0 °C to +70 °C across nine chamber sizes from 32 to 2 140 litres.
Advanced Peltier Technology integrates fans directly into the Peltier elements, enabling rapid energy transfer and tight temperature homogeneity across the working chamber. The interior is sealed from the surroundings; condensation during cooling occurs on the Peltier element outside the working chamber rather than inside, reducing the risk of sample drying and protecting cultures from condensate exposure. The absence of a compressor means the IPPeco operates with low vibration and lower noise than equivalent refrigerant-cooled incubators, making it well suited to vibration-sensitive biological samples.
Each size is available as a base model with SingleDISPLAY ControlCOCKPIT, or as a "plus" variant with TwinDISPLAY, which supports temperature ramp programming and documentation via AtmoCONTROL software.

Q: What is the temperature range of the Memmert IPP110eco?
A: The Memmert IPP110eco has a setting temperature range of 0°C to +70°C. Without the optional light module, its working range extends from 0°C to +70°C, with the lowest achievable temperature requiring a minimum difference of 20 K below ambient temperature.
Q: What is the capacity of the IPP110eco incubator?
A: The IPP110eco has an internal chamber volume of 108 litres. Its stainless-steel interior measures 560 × 480 × 400 mm (W × H × D), with the usable depth reduced by 32 mm for the Peltier fan.
Q: How does the Memmert IPP110eco heat and cool?
A: The IPP110eco uses an energy-saving Peltier heating and cooling system integrated into the rear of the incubator. It operates according to the heat-pump principle and does not require a conventional compressor or refrigerant.
Q: Does the IPP110eco use refrigerant?
A: No. The IPP110eco is a compressor-free and refrigerant-free Peltier-cooled incubator. This design also contributes to low vibration and quieter operation compared with conventional compressor-cooled systems.
Q: What controller is fitted to the IPP110eco?
A: The IPP110eco uses the SingleDISPLAY ControlCOCKPIT, an adaptive multifunctional digital PID microprocessor controller with a high-definition TFT colour display.
Q: What is the temperature setting accuracy of the IPP110eco?
A: Temperature can be set with a 0.1°C setting accuracy. Temperature measurement is provided by one Pt100 DIN Class A sensor in a 4-wire circuit.
Q: How is air circulated inside the IPP110eco?
A: The IPP110eco uses forced ventilation by a Peltier fan. Fans integrated with the Peltier system support efficient energy transfer and consistent temperature distribution throughout the chamber.
Q: How does the IPP110eco manage condensation during cooling?
A: The working chamber is sealed from the surroundings so that condensation generated during cooling forms on the Peltier element outside the working chamber. This helps protect cultures from direct condensate exposure and minimises the risk of samples drying out.
Q: Is the Memmert IPP110eco suitable for microbiology applications?
A: Yes. The IPP110eco is designed for applications including microbiological analyses, bacterial count determination and cultivation above and below room temperature. Its controlled temperature environment also supports food science and quality assurance workflows.
Q: What are typical applications for the IPP110eco?
A: Typical applications include microbiological analyses, bacterial count determination, cultivation above and below room temperature, beer stability accelerated ageing tests, shelf-life testing of dairy products, and food science research and quality assurance.
Q: Is the IPP110eco suitable for vibration-sensitive samples?
A: Yes. Its compressor-free Peltier design provides low-vibration operation compared with conventional refrigerant-cooled incubators, making it useful for biological samples and other applications where vibration should be minimised.
Q: Can the IPP110eco be fitted with an illumination module?
A: Yes. An optional light module, Option P1, can be used with this model. When operating with the light module, the specified working temperature range is +10°C to +40°C.
Q: What is the difference between the IPP110eco and IPP110ecoplus?
A: The IPP110eco is the base model with SingleDISPLAY ControlCOCKPIT. The IPP110ecoplus is the TwinDISPLAY “plus” version, adding temperature ramp programming and expanded documentation capabilities through AtmoCONTROL software with an integrated data logger.
Q: Does the IPP110eco support AtmoCONTROL software?
A: Yes. AtmoCONTROL software can be used for reading, managing and organising data logger information via the Ethernet interface. A temporary trial version can be downloaded, while a USB stick containing AtmoCONTROL is available as an accessory on demand.
Q: What timer functions are available on the IPP110eco?
A: The controller includes a digital backwards counter with a target time setting adjustable from 1 minute to 99 days. The SetpointWAIT function can prevent process time from starting until the selected temperature has been reached.
Q: Can the IPP110eco be calibrated at different temperatures?
A: Yes. Calibration can be performed at three freely selectable temperature values. A works calibration certificate covering +10°C, +25°C and +40°C is included as standard.
Q: What safety features does the IPP110eco include?
A: The incubator includes an adjustable electronic overtemperature monitor and a mechanical temperature limiter. An autodiagnostic system is also provided to support fault analysis.
Q: What doors are fitted to the IPP110eco?
A: The IPP110eco has a fully insulated stainless-steel outer door with two-point compression locking and an inner glass door. The inner glass door allows samples to be viewed while limiting disturbance to the chamber environment.
Q: How many shelves are supplied with the IPP110eco?
A: The incubator is supplied with two electropolished stainless-steel grids. The chamber can accommodate a maximum of five internals.
Q: What is the maximum loading capacity of the IPP110eco?
A: The chamber has a maximum total loading capacity of 150 kg. Each internal grid or shelf has a maximum permitted loading of 20 kg.
Q: What are the external dimensions of the IPP110eco?
A: The IPP110eco measures 745 × 864 × 555 mm (W × H × D). Installation planning should also allow an additional 56 mm of depth for the door handle and 111 mm for the rear Peltier element.
Q: How much does the Memmert IPP110eco weigh?
A: The IPP110eco has a net weight of approximately 63 kg. Its gross shipping weight, including the carton, is approximately 86 kg.
Q: How is the IPP110eco installed?
A: The IPP110eco is designed for installation on fixed feet. Adequate ventilation clearance must be maintained around the unit during installation.
Q: What electrical supply does the IPP110eco require?
A: The incubator is available for 230 V or 115 V, 50/60 Hz electrical supplies. Its approximate electrical load is 320 W.
