Memmert Constant Climate Chamber, HPPeco Series
Peltier-cooled stability chambers for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, and environmental testing; refrigerant-free, from 0 °C to +70 °C
The Memmert HPPeco is a range of constant climate chambers using Advanced Peltier Technology for simultaneous temperature and humidity control. The series operates without a compressor or refrigerant, which results in approximately 90 % lower energy consumption in continuous operation compared to compressor-cooled alternatives.
Temperature control runs from 0 °C to +70 °C. Active humidification and dehumidification spans 10–90 % rh, with a micro-dosing pump for rapid, precise humidification and a Peltier-based dehumidification system for stable control at low relative humidity levels. The range is optimised for pharmaceutical stability studies according to ICH guideline Q1A, as well as stability testing for cosmetics and food, environmental testing, and materials testing.
Seven chamber sizes from 108 to 2 140 litres provide for applications ranging from small-batch stability studies to walk-in scale testing environments. All models use the TwinDISPLAY ControlCOCKPIT and are compatible with AtmoCONTROL software for programming and documentation. An optional illumination module (Option P1) extends the range to photo-stability and biological cultivation applications. A compressed air-drying option (Option C9) is recommended for applications where the chamber load emits moisture, such as plant growth.
Note on moisture-emitting loads: For applications where the chamber load releases moisture during testing, such as plant cultivation, Memmert recommends the C9 compressed air drying option to maintain stable and precise humidity control.

Q: What is the temperature range of the Memmert HPP750eco?
A: The HPP750eco has a setting temperature range of 0°C to +70°C without humidity and +5°C to +70°C with humidity. Without illumination, the working range extends down to 0°C without humidity or +5°C with humidity, provided the operating temperature is at least 20 K below ambient. With the optional P1 illumination module, the working temperature range is +15°C to +40°C.
Q: What humidity range does the HPP750eco provide?
A: The chamber provides active humidity control from 10% to 90% relative humidity (rh). Humidity can be set with an accuracy of 0.5% rh.
Q: What is the internal capacity of the HPP750eco?
A: The HPP750eco has an internal volume of 749 litres. The stainless-steel chamber measures 1 040 × 1 200 × 600 mm (W × H × D), with usable depth reduced by 32 mm for the Peltier fan.
Q: How does the HPP750eco heat and cool the chamber?
A: The HPP750eco uses Advanced Peltier Technology for heating and cooling. The energy-saving Peltier system is integrated into the rear of the chamber and operates according to the heat-pump principle, without requiring a conventional compressor or refrigerant.
Q: Does the HPP750eco use refrigerant?
A: No. The HPP750eco uses a refrigerant-free Peltier heating and cooling system. It does not require a compressor or conventional refrigerant, contributing to low-maintenance and quiet continuous operation.
Q: How energy efficient is the Memmert HPPeco series?
A: Memmert states that the HPPeco series provides approximately 90% lower energy consumption in continuous operation compared with compressor-cooled alternatives. The HPP750eco itself has an electrical load of approximately 700 W.
Q: How is humidity generated and controlled in the HPP750eco?
A: Humidification is provided by a hot steam generator, using distilled water drawn from an external tank by a self-priming pump. Dehumidification is achieved with a Peltier-based cold trap, enabling active humidity control across the 10–90% rh setting range.
Q: Is a water tank included with the HPP750eco?
A: Yes. A water tank and connection hose are supplied as standard. The chamber’s self-priming pump draws distilled water from the external tank for humidification.
Q: Is the HPP750eco suitable for pharmaceutical stability testing?
A: Yes. The HPPeco series is designed for pharmaceutical stability studies according to ICH guideline Q1A. It is also suited to cosmetics and food stability testing, environmental testing and materials testing.
Q: Can the HPP750eco be used for plant cultivation and photostability testing?
A: Yes, when equipped with the optional P1 illumination module. The illumination option supports applications including photostability testing, seed germination, plant cultivation and insect breeding. With illumination, the working temperature range is +15°C to +40°C. For loads that release moisture, such as plants, Memmert recommends the optional C9 compressed-air drying system.
Q: What illumination options are available for the HPP750eco?
A: The optional P1 illumination module is available with cold white light at 6 500 K, or a combination of cold white and warm white light at 2 700 K. Illumination can be dimmed in 1% increments.
Q: What controller does the HPP750eco use?
A: The chamber uses Memmert’s TwinDISPLAY ControlCOCKPIT, an adaptive multifunctional digital PID microprocessor controller with two high-definition TFT colour displays. Adjustable parameters include temperature, relative humidity, programme time, time zones and summertime/wintertime settings.
Q: Can temperature and humidity programmes be created for the HPP750eco?
A: Yes. Memmert AtmoCONTROL software is provided on a USB stick for programming, managing and transferring programmes. Programmes can be transferred through the Ethernet interface or USB port.
Q: What communication interfaces are available?
A: The HPP750eco provides Ethernet LAN and USB connectivity for programme transfer, data handling and documentation in combination with AtmoCONTROL software.
Q: What happens to a programme if there is a power failure?
A: The HPP750eco is designed to retain the programme in the event of a power failure, supporting continuity and documentation of controlled test workflows.
Q: What temperature sensors are used in the HPP750eco?
A: The chamber uses two Pt100 DIN Class A temperature sensors in a 4-wire circuit. The sensors mutually monitor each other and can take over functions in the event of an error.
Q: What temperature safety systems are built into the HPP750eco?
A: The HPP750eco incorporates a TWW over- and undertemperature monitor, protection class 3.3, together with Memmert’s AutoSAFETY system. AutoSAFETY automatically follows the selected setpoint within a preset tolerance range and provides protection and alarms for over- or undertemperature conditions. Visual and acoustic alarms and an integral fault-diagnostic system are also provided.
Q: Is a calibration certificate included with the HPP750eco?
A: Yes. A standard works calibration certificate is included for +25°C / 60% rh and +40°C / 75% rh. The controller also permits calibration at three freely selectable values each for temperature and humidity.
Q: What is the maximum load capacity of the HPP750eco?
A: The chamber has a maximum total load capacity of 200 kg. Each internal shelf or grid can support a maximum load of 30 kg, subject to appropriate load distribution.
Q: How many shelves are supplied with the HPP750eco?
A: The HPP750eco is supplied with two electropolished stainless-steel grids. The chamber can accommodate up to 14 internals.
Q: What type of doors does the HPP750eco have?
A: The chamber is fitted with fully insulated stainless-steel outer doors with two-point compression locking and inner glass doors. The glass doors allow visual inspection of the chamber contents while helping limit disruption to controlled internal conditions.
Q: Does the HPP750eco have an entry port for external sensors or equipment?
A: Yes. A moisture-tight silicone entry port with an 18 mm clear diameter is located in the side panel at centre left. The port can be closed with a silicone stopper when not required.
