The SCAT Exhaust Filter M, Version 3.0, is designed to control solvent vapours released from HPLC waste containers. This filter uses a multi-layer activated carbon core to adsorb vapours from organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It is compatible with all SCAT Safety Waste Caps and is suitable for integration into solvent waste management systems in laboratory environments.
The filter includes a change indicator for timely replacement and a built-in splash guard to protect the filter media. Each unit is tested against DIN, ISO, and ASTM standards to ensure consistent adsorption performance.
This product is supplied as a pack of two filters. The typical service life is six months under standard laboratory conditions.
Features and Use Case
Vapour Control: The filter prevents the release of harmful solvent vapours into the laboratory environment and supports safe pressure equalisation inside the waste container.
Tested Filter Media: The activated carbon is tested according to ASTM, DIN, and ISO standards and is optimised for solvent vapour adsorption.
Visual Replacement Monitoring: The built-in change indicator assists with filter lifecycle management and helps maintain system reliability.
Simple Installation and Container Replacement: The filter allows rotation of the cap even when tubing is connected, helping users avoid twisting and tangling during container changes.
Application Context
This exhaust filter is designed for use in HPLC waste collection systems where the safe handling of organic solvents, acids, and alkalis is required. It helps laboratories meet safety requirements, maintain compliance during inspections, and protect both personnel and equipment from exposure to volatile substances.
