The IKA RCT basic ETS-D5 Solution pairs the RCT basic magnetic stirrer with the ETS-D5 electronic contact thermometer in a single, pre-configured bundle. The two instruments are linked through a dedicated safety circuit that operates independently of the stirrer's software. When the medium temperature exceeds the user-defined limit, the circuit cuts heating automatically and keeps the stirrer running to prevent boiling distortions. The ETS-D5 also refines medium temperature control to 0.1 K resolution and allows the display to be positioned at eye level, directly at the point of measurement. Heating plate temperature is set and monitored independently of the medium, giving active control over heating times. All mounting hardware is included.

Key Features
- Dual-path safety circuit: ETS-D5 temperature limit and hotplate safety temperature are OR-linked: either condition independently triggers a heating cutoff. Stirring continues after cutoff to prevent boiling distortions.
- 0.1 K medium temperature control: ETS-D5 raises the set point resolution from 1 K to 0.1 K. Actual and set values are shown simultaneously on both the stirrer and the contact thermometer.
- Independent plate temperature control: Heating plate temperature is set separately from the medium target, giving direct influence over heating rate and thermal gradient management.
- Brushless DC motor: Motor rated at 9 W. Speed deviation at 1 500 rpm under no-load, nominal voltage conditions is ±2%.
- Built-in timer: Timer range from 1 second to 5 999 minutes. LED display on the RCT basic unit.
- Sensor-in-medium detection: The unit detects whether the external PT1000 sensor is immersed in the medium, informing the control circuit.
- Multiple sensor compatibility: Accepts PT1000, ETS-D5, ETS-D7, and PT wireless sensors. Optional pH measurement available with ETS-D7 or PT wireless.
