Product Overview
The Copan eSwab® is a liquid Amies elution system for the collection and transport of clinical specimens containing aerobes, anaerobes, fastidious bacteria, viruses, and Chlamydia from the collection site to the testing laboratory. Each tube is pre-filled with 1 mL of liquid Amies medium and supplied together with one or more FLOQSwabs® in a configuration matched to the intended collection site.
The liquid format allows a single specimen to support multiple downstream tests, including bacterial culture, nucleic acid amplification testing, rapid antigen assays, and Gram staining, which can reduce the number of collection devices needed per patient encounter. Samples can be processed manually or automatically on the Copan WASP® specimen processor.
