The CISA 400 mm Ø x 100 mm H test sieves are constructed for coarse particle size testing and large sample volumes. The frame is AISI-316 stainless steel, providing greater corrosion resistance than the AISI-304 used on smaller sieve sizes, with a mirror-polished finish. Two configurations are available: wire mesh (400.1) conforming to ISO 3310.1, ASTM E-11, and NF X11-504, covering 20 µm to 125 mm; and perforated plate with square and round holes (400.2) conforming to ISO 3310.2 and ASTM E-323. For wire mesh openings smaller than 100 µm, reinforcement mesh placement is available as an option. Each sieve includes individual laser-engraved identification and a certificate of attestation per 2.1 EN 10204.
Contact Lasec using our enquiry form, quoting your required mesh opening and CISA code. For openings smaller than 100 µm, ask about reinforcement mesh placement.
Not sure which mesh size or configuration you need?
The 400 mm sieve is suited to coarse particle applications. You can still use our enquiry form to leave your details and confirm the correct mesh opening, configuration, and whether reinforcement mesh is required for your application.

Q: What material is the frame made from?
A: The frame of the 400 mm × 100 mm sieve is manufactured from AISI-316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish. This distinguishes it from the smaller 100 mm, 200 mm, and 300 mm sieve ranges, which use AISI-304 frames as standard. AISI-316 provides enhanced corrosion resistance, particularly in environments involving chlorides or aggressive cleaning agents.
Q: How much does the sieve weigh?
A: The 400 mm × 100 mm sieve weighs between 1,750 g and 2,400 g, depending on the selected mesh opening. The weight variation reflects differences in wire or perforated plate construction across the available opening range.
Q: What is the screening surface area of this sieve?
A: The sieve provides a screening surface area of 1,200 cm², representing the usable mesh or plate area within the frame.
Q: What is this sieve size designed for?
A: The CISA 400 mm × 100 mm sieve is designed for coarse particle size testing.
Q: What configurations are available for this sieve size?
A: Two configurations are available for the 400 mm × 100 mm frame:
• 400.1 — Wire mesh, conforming to ISO 3310.1, ASTM E-11, and AFNOR NF X11-504, with openings from 20 µm to 125 mm.
• 400.2 — Perforated plate (square holes and round holes), conforming to ISO 3310.2 and ASTM E-323. Square-hole openings range from 3.15 mm to 125 mm, while round-hole openings range from 4.00 mm to 125 mm.
Q: Can I order a wire mesh sieve with a very fine opening in the 400 mm frame?
A: Yes. The 400.1 wire mesh configuration is available with openings as fine as 20 µm. For openings smaller than 100 µm, an optional reinforcement mesh can be fitted to provide additional mechanical support within the large 400 mm frame. Contact Lasec when ordering if this option is required.
Q: What is the full wire mesh range available in this frame size?
A: Configuration 400.1 is available in wire mesh openings from 20 µm to 125 mm. The complete mesh size table, including ISO 3310.1 openings, ASTM E-11-2013 designations, and CISA product codes, is available on the product details page.
Q: Which standards does this sieve conform to?
A: Configuration 400.1 (wire mesh) conforms to ISO 3310.1, ASTM E-11, and AFNOR NF X11-504. Configuration 400.2 (perforated plate) conforms to ISO 3310.2 and ASTM E-323.
Q: What certificate is supplied with the sieve?
A: Every CISA 400 mm × 100 mm sieve is supplied with a certificate of attestation conforming to EN 10204 2.1.
Q: Is a calibration certificate available?
A: Yes. An optional calibration certificate is available to ASTM E-11, AFNOR NF X-11-504, BS 410, or ISO 3310 standards. Contact Lasec when placing your order to request this option.
Q: How is each sieve individually identified?
A: Each sieve carries an individual laser-engraved identification mark to ensure full traceability.
Q: What accessories are available for the 400 mm sieve?
A: The following optional accessories are available for the 400 mm × 100 mm sieve:
• Pan, 400 mm Ø stainless steel
• Cover, 400 mm Ø stainless steel
• Wet sieving pan and cover, 400 mm Ø
• Cleaning kit
• Reinforcement mesh placement for openings smaller than 100 µm
• Calibration certificate to ASTM E-11, NF X-11-504, BS 410, or ISO 3310
