Q: What material is the frame made from?
A: The frame is made from AISI-304 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish. An AISI-316 (1.4404) stainless steel frame is available as an optional upgrade for applications requiring higher corrosion resistance.
Q: How much does the sieve weigh?
A: The 300 mm × 70 mm sieve weighs between 1,250 g and 1,800 g, depending on the mesh opening. The weight variation reflects differences in wire diameter and mesh density across the available opening range.
Q: Is this sieve suitable for wet sieving?
A: Yes. The mirror-polished AISI-304 stainless steel frame is suitable for wet sieving. A wet sieving pan and cover for the 300 mm diameter frame are available as accessories.
Q: What is the intended use for this sieve size?
A: The CISA 300 mm × 70 mm sieve is suited for medium grain sizes. It is referenced by ISO, ASTM, and BS standards.
Q: What configurations are available for this sieve size?
A: Two configurations are available for the 300 mm × 70 mm frame:
• 300.1 — Wire mesh, conforming to ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013, with openings from 20 µm to 125 mm.
• 300.2 — Perforated plate (square holes and round holes), conforming to ISO 3310.2 and ASTM E-323-2011, with openings from 4.00 mm to 125 mm.
Q: What mesh sizes are available in configuration 300.1?
A: Configuration 300.1 (wire mesh) is available in openings from 20 µm to 125 mm. The full list of available sizes, including ISO 3310.1 openings, ASTM E-11-2013 designations, and CISA product codes, is provided in the details section of the product page. Contact Lasec to confirm availability of your required size.
Q: How much sample can this sieve hold?
A: The recommended sample volumes for configuration 300.1 are:
• 38 µm — 100 cm³
• 45 µm — 120 cm³
• 63 µm — 140 cm³
• 90 µm — 160 cm³
• 125 µm — 200 cm³
• 250 µm — 280 cm³
• 500 µm — 400 cm³
• 1.00 mm — 560 cm³
• 2.00 mm — 400 cm³
• 4.00 mm — 1,400 cm³
• 8.00 mm — 2,000 cm³
• 16.00 mm — 2,500 cm³
Q: Which standards does this sieve conform to?
A: Configuration 300.1 (wire mesh) conforms to ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013. Configuration 300.2 (perforated plate) conforms to ISO 3310.2 and ASTM E-323-2011. The sieve is recommended by ISO, ASTM, and BS standards.
Q: What certificate is supplied with the sieve?
A: Every CISA 300 mm × 70 mm sieve is supplied with a certificate of compliance conforming to EN 10204 2.1.
Q: Is a calibration certificate available?
A: Yes. An optional calibration certificate with uncertainty value is available on request. Contact Lasec when placing your order to include this option.
Q: How is each sieve individually identified?
A: Each sieve is laser-marked with an individual serial number to support traceability requirements in laboratory quality management systems.
Q: What accessories are available for the 300 mm sieve?
A: The following accessories are available for the 300 mm × 70 mm sieve:
• Cover, 300 mm Ø stainless steel — Code 1600001
• Pan, 300 mm Ø × 70 mm H stainless steel — Code 1600002
• Wet sieving pan and cover, 300 mm Ø
• Cleaning kit
• Calibration certificate with uncertainty value
• AISI-316 stainless steel frame upgrade
