The CISA 100 mm Ø x 40 mm H test sieves are designed for particle size analysis on small sample quantities, with a recommended sample volume of up to 25 cm³. The stainless steel AISI-304 frame carries wire mesh (configuration 100.1) conforming to ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013, covering mesh openings from 20 µm to 4.00 mm. Each sieve is individually laser-engraved with a serial number and supplied with a certificate of attestation according to standard 2.1 EN 10204. An optional calibration certificate with indication of the sieve value is available on request.
Mesh sizes are not loaded as individual SKUs. Select your required mesh opening from the table below and contact Lasec using our enquiry form, the CISA product code. Codes follow the ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013 standards.

Q: What material is the frame made from?
A: The frame is made from AISI-304 stainless steel as standard. An AISI-316 (1.4404) stainless steel frame is available as an optional upgrade. AISI-316 offers greater corrosion resistance and is appropriate for applications involving aggressive chemical environments or frequent wet cleaning.
Q: What material is the wire mesh made from?
A: The wire mesh is stainless steel, available in AISI-304 or AISI-316. The choice of mesh grade is related to the mesh opening. Contact Lasec to confirm which grade applies to your required mesh size.
Q: How much does the sieve weigh?
A: The 100 mm × 40 mm sieve weighs between 70 g and 140 g, depending on the mesh opening. Sieves with finer mesh openings tend to weigh more due to the denser wire construction.
Q: What mesh sizes are available for this sieve?
A: The 100 mm × 40 mm sieve (configuration 100.1) is available with wire mesh openings from 20 µm up to 4.00 mm. There are 59 available mesh sizes across this range, spanning fine mesh (20 µm–150 µm), medium mesh (160 µm–900 µm), and coarse mesh (1.00 mm–4.00 mm).
Q: What is the only available configuration for this sieve size?
A: The 100 mm × 40 mm sieve is available in one configuration only: configuration 100.1, which is wire mesh conforming to ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013.
Q: What is the maximum mesh opening available for this sieve?
A: The maximum mesh opening available for the 100 mm × 40 mm sieve with wire mesh (configuration 100.1) is 4.00 mm, corresponding to ASTM designation No. 5 and CISA code 0412201. If you require openings larger than 4.00 mm, you will need a larger sieve frame. Tthe 200 mm × 50 mm sieve, for example, extends to 125 mm with wire mesh.
Q: What sample volume is recommended for this sieve?
A: A maximum sample volume of 25 cm³ is recommended for the 100 mm × 40 mm sieve. This sieve is described as suited to small sample quantities. Exceeding the recommended sample volume may affect the accuracy of the particle size analysis result.
Q: Which international standards does this sieve conform to?
A: The 100 mm × 40 mm wire mesh sieve (configuration 100.1) conforms to ISO 3310.1 and ASTM E-11-2013.
Q: What certificate is included with the sieve?
A: Every CISA 100 mm × 40 mm sieve is supplied with a certificate of attestation conforming to standard 2.1 EN 10204. This certificate confirms that the sieve meets the applicable material and manufacturing requirements.
Q: Is a calibration certificate available?
A: Yes. An optional calibration certificate with indication of the sieve value is available on request. The calibration certificate can be issued to any of the following standards: ASTM E-11, AFNOR NF X-11-504, BS 410, or ISO 3310. Contact Lasec when placing your order to request this option.
Q: How is each sieve identified for traceability?
A: Each sieve carries an individual laser-engraved identification mark. This serial number allows the sieve to be traced back to its production batch and supports quality management and audit requirements in laboratory environments.
Q: Does this sieve fit the 100 mm × 23 mm H frame?
A: No. The 100 mm Ø × 40 mm H sieve does not fit the 100 mm Ø × 23 mm H sieve frame. The two sizes share the same diameter but have different heights and are not interchangeable. If you are building a sieve stack, ensure all sieves in the set are the same height.
Q: How is the sieve packaged?
A: The sieve is individually packed in a 100% recycled cardboard box and supplied with a certificate of attestation per 2.1 EN 10204.
Q: What accessories are available separately?
A: The following optional accessories are available for the 100 mm × 40 mm frame size: a pan (CISA code 0400001) and cover (CISA code 0400002), a rubber gasket (100 mm Ø × 40 mm H) and a cleaning kit. Contact Lasec for ordering information..
