The Petrifilm® Yeast and Mold Count Plates are used for the enumeration of yeast and mold in the food, beverage, and bottled water industries. The Petrifilm® Yeast and Mold Count Plate provides results between 3 to 5 days. Yeasts are easily differentiated from molds on the plate:
- Yeasts are typically indicated by small, blue-green colonies with defined edges and no foci.
- Molds are indicated by large, variably coloured colonies with diffuse edges and centre foci.
