Ensuring Compliance with SANS 54470-1:2017 Fire Safety Standards
Are you storing your flammable solvents in accordance with the newly released SANS 54470-1:2017 Fire Safety Cabinets Standard?
The South African Bureau of Standards recently published SANS54470-1:2017 – Fire Safety Cabinets. The SABS technical committee, initiated by Lasec®, was alarmed by the increasing frequency of fires caused by high incidences of negligence and the lack of strict regulations surrounding fire safety cabinets used to store flammable liquids. This new standard stipulates the minimum requirements for safer fire safety cabinets to be used inside the workplace.
SANS 54470-1, aligns very closely with the European standard EN 14470-1, such that all Asecos® cabinets supplied by Lasec® are 100% compliant with this new South African Standard.
