The Q-Extract DNA Extraction PCR Kit is a rapid and efficient solution for DNA extraction and PCR amplification, specifically designed for genotyping applications where rapid, minimal-handling DNA extraction followed by direct PCR amplification is required. The kit combines a non-toxic DNA extraction for lysis and DNA preparation, and Taq DNA Polymerase 2x Master Mix RED for subsequent amplification.

Kit Components
Q-Extract DNA Extraction Solution: 5 x 10 ml
A non-toxic, optimised solution for one-step lysis of DNA from mammalian tissues (mouse tails, ear snips, liver, kidney, lung), plant leaves, saliva, and bacteria. Lysis is performed in two simple heating steps in a thermocycler or heating block. DNA from fish fins and bird feathers can also be extracted, but requires prolonged incubation for optimal lysis. The resulting extract requires no further processing before PCR.
Taq DNA Polymerase 2x Master Mix RED, 1.5 mM MgCl2: 5 x 1.25 ml
A ready-to-use 2x reaction mix for PCR amplification of the extracted DNA. Contains an inert red dye and stabiliser that allow direct gel loading of amplified product and provide visual confirmation of pipetting and mixing. The red dye front runs at 1000 – 2000 bp on a 0.5 – 1.5% agarose gel.
Tris-HCl pH 8.5, (NH4)2S04, 3 mM MgCl2, 0.2% Tween® 20, 0.4 mM of each dNTPs, Taq DNA polymerase, Inert red dye and stabiliser.

- Tip: Aliquot into smaller volumes - Extraction Solution tolerates up to 20 freeze-thaw cycles.

Taq DNA Polymerase 2x Master Mix RED
- Long-term: -20 °C (expiry on label)
- Short-term: +4 °C for up to 6 months
Quality Control
Each batch of Q-Extract DNA Extraction Solution is functionally tested.
Taq DNA Polymerase is functionally tested and assessed for contaminating activities. Each batch is confirmed to have no detectable endonuclease activity, nicking activity, or exonuclease activity.
