The ALP Smart Lab Clave CL Series is a range of top-loading laboratory autoclaves offering a price-performance balance for routine sterilisation work across research, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and industrial laboratories. The series spans five chamber sizes, from 45 L to 117 L, giving laboratories a choice of capacity to match daily throughput.
Depending on the model, the CL Series sterilises at temperatures from 100°C up to a maximum of 140°C or 137°C, covering standard sterilisation cycles and, on selected models, higher-temperature cycles suited to heat-resistant items requiring temperatures above 130°C.
A one-action safety interlock lid is standard across the series. A single lever locks and unlocks the lid, and an auto-balance hinge mechanism is designed to make lifting and lowering the lid feel effortless. This is paired with a double interlock system: the lid is held closed throughout the sterilisation cycle, and remains locked until chamber temperature and pressure have both dropped to a safe level.
Operation is controlled from a digital display panel that shows sterilisation progress through an indicator bar and on-screen status text, with settings visible during programming. Sterilisation, sterilization/warming, and dissolving/warming programmes are available as standard, with liquid sterilisation possible depending on the programme selected. Daily operation involves loading the chamber, closing and locking the lid, selecting the programme, and pressing start.
On the larger-diameter φ400 mm chamber models, increased chamber diameter is intended to improve loading capacity for glassware. On selected smaller models, a lower work surface height is intended to make loading heavier baskets, including liquid-filled vessels, more manageable.
For applications requiring dried loads after sterilisation, the related CL-DP series adds an integrated drying function, drawing air through a 0.2 µm sterilisation filter to dry glassware and other suitable items without opening the lid.
Available options across the range, depending on model and configuration, include a floating temperature sensor for monitoring load temperature directly, a printer for recording temperature and time on roll paper, a rapid cooling fan to shorten cool-down time, and a recorder for profiling temperature and time across multiple sensors. IQ/OQ documentation is available as an optional add-on to support GMP and GLP compliance requirements.

Q: What is the chamber capacity of the ALP CL-40M laboratory autoclave?
A: The ALP CL-40M has a 97 L chamber capacity with internal chamber dimensions of Ø400 × 660 mm, making it suitable for higher-volume laboratory sterilisation.
Q: What sterilisation temperature range does the CL-40M support?
A: The CL-40M provides a sterilisation temperature range of 100°C to 137°C, operating at a maximum pressure of 0.250 MPa.
Q: What operating modes are available?
A: The CL-40M offers three standard operating modes:
• Sterilisation
• Sterilisation with warming
• Dissolving with warming
Q: What sterilisation and warming times can be programmed?
A: Sterilisation, dissolving, and warming programmes can all be set from 0 minutes up to 48 hours, depending on the selected operating mode.
Q: What temperature ranges are available for dissolving and warming?
A: The dissolving programme operates between 40°C and 99°C, while the warming programme operates between 40°C and 60°C.
Q: Does the CL-40M include a drying function?
A: No. The CL-40M is not fitted with a drying function. Laboratories requiring post-sterilisation drying should consider the CL-40MDP, which includes an integrated drying system.
Q: How much laboratory glassware can the CL-40M accommodate?
A: The supplied wire basket can accommodate up to eight 500 mL Erlenmeyer flasks or five 1,000 mL Erlenmeyer flasks, depending on the load configuration.
